Hayley graduated from the University of Cumbria in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing (2:1). Her first post as a staff nurse was working within an Acute Surgical Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. She worked on the ASU for 3 years and gained acute surgical experience before moving to the Neurosurgical ward at Royal Preston Hospital. Hayley worked here for a short period before moving to the Critical Care Unit.
Hayley worked in Critical Care for 6.5 years and gained valuable knowledge and skills in caring for the acutely unwell patient with Trauma and Neuroscience specialisms. Patients within a critical care environment often need life support for either single or multiple organ failure. A typical patient could be receiving respiratory support via a ventilator, inotropes for cardiovascular support and require hemodialysis for renal support. She also worked on the front-line throughout the Covid Pandemic.
Hayley鈥檚 passion for teaching developed in practice through being assigned student nurses to supervise and assess. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing her knowledge and skills with future nurses and enjoyed being a positive role model.
Hayley has worked at The 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 since June 2021 on the Pre-Registration team. She was previously module lead for the final module of the programme and remains a personal tutor to a cohort of student nurses. In 2023 she completed the PG Cert in Teaching and Supporting Learning in Professional and Higher Education and am now a FHEA member. This has provided her with valuable skills and knowledge to educate the future nurses. Hayley is keen to develop these skills further and plans to commence a Masters in the near future.
Hayley is currently the Assessment Programme Lead for the School of Nursing and Midwifery. This post requires her to have knowledge on the assessment processes, create and plan timetables for teaching and collaborate with other departments within the University to ensure student progression on the programmes. Hayley aims to continue to develop her professionalism, knowledge and skills within the Higher Education sector.
