Bolton is a historic town, and a great place to live during your time studying at university in the UK. It鈥檚 a large, thriving town, with many shops, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities.
Bolton has a renowned and growing cultural scene, it is one of the UK's most vibrant towns and the 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 campus is right at the heart of it. The beautiful town hall, gallery and museum, as well as the famous Octagon theatre and the performance venue the Albert Halls Bolton are all just a short walk from campus. Behind the town hall is the famous Le Mans Crescent which was named after Bolton鈥檚 twinned town of Le Mans in France, the home of endurance motor-racing. Bolton also has one of the oldest pubs in Britain, Ye Olde Man & Scythe which dates back to 1251 as well as a series of new bars and major restaurants in the town centre, such as those hosted in the Vaults at Market Place, Bolton.
There is also a multiplex cinema, ten-pin bowling, shops, hotels and 24-hour supermarkets can be found a few minutes from the Deane Road Campus. Free live music events and regular student nights are on offer at many venues. Outside the University there are public football pitches, golf courses, riding schools, sports centre and public swimming pools. Just 17 minutes by train from Bolton is Manchester; one of the UK's most multicultural and liveliest cities. Here you can find even more culture, attractions and vibrant nightlife.
Whether you are looking for high end, designer retailers in Spinningfields; a taste of culture and history around Castlefield or a vintage bargain and quality coffee in the Northern Quarter - you are in a great place to benefit from what the city of Manchester has to offer. There are world-class museums, theatres and international cinemas, legendary music venues and a wealth of eateries and student friendly shops.
A short journey down the River Irwell you will also find the new media and cultural hub of Mediacity UK at Salford Quays (pictured). This is now the premier waterfront destination in Manchester and is the heart of the UK's biggest media and digital industries (such as the BBC and ITV) as well as being another shopping hub. For those who enjoy their shopping experience supersized, the huge shopping mall of the Trafford Centre is just a few miles away from Bolton and Manchester.
Liverpool is just a short train journey west, this city is famous for producing the Beatles rock band and world-renowned football club, Liverpool FC. You鈥檒l be able to enjoy bars with a variety of food and drink options, museums containing the city鈥檚 history and art galleries which have famous painting on display.
The transport links from Liverpool have been booming since the industrial revolution when passengers were ferried to the USA. Now, passengers are mainly travelling to Dublin and other local areas, but for those wishing to travel internationally, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a short journey away from the city centre.

The West Pennine moors area is only 2.5 miles from campus and offers some of the North of England's most beautiful countryside with lakes and reservoirs, historic ruins and ancient sites. From here, you have the perfect base to explore the North West of England coastline, the Peak District to the south or the breath-taking Lake District to the North which has been declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2017.
International travel could not be simpler, Bolton enjoys a direct train link to Manchester Airport - the busiest UK airport outside of London! So whether it's returning home or onward travel, being at Bolton will mean you always feel connected.
