Spasticity (high muscle tone)

Spasticity (high muscle tone) is a symptom some people experience after stroke. It disrupts the messages from your brain to the muscles in your arm or leg, causing the muscles to become stiff, to tighten up when you are trying to relax them and resist against being stretched. In some cases, muscles become so stiff that they are difficult to move, unable to complete a movement and can become stuck or fixed in one position.
